The business is committed to being carbon neutral by 2040 and will achieve this through responsibly phasing out fossil fuels at the same time as investing in low-carbon technologies.
In the UK, RWE expects to invest up to £15 billion in new green technologies and infrastructure by 2030.
The support RWE is providing to The Solent Cluster is with our expertise as a leading global player in the development of low carbon energy and specifically green hydrogen, which is an upcoming field. It’s a priority for us to work with those involved at a local level to provide the right technical and economic solutions for the specific needs of the area from the start.
By working closely with the Cluster, we can better understand the barriers and opportunities surrounding decarbonisation in the region, and help us to provide bespoke solutions and support. Developing clusters like this is a really important part of the development of a hydrogen economy.
