The port provided a superb venue for networking and a tour of the excellent Eco-Friendly new cruise Terminal.

The event showcased the Sea Change project and introduced the Solent Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plan, two different project collaborations between our cluster members.

Elly Toyer, Environmental and Sustainability Co-ordinator at Portsmouth International Port and David Hutchinson, Associate Professor in Environmental Innovation at the University of Portsmouth from the Sea Change project set out the roadmap to electrification of ships at berth to improve air quality and decarbonise and how the findings will be shared so that other ports can replicate the learnings from the project.

Zoë Colbeck, a Project Manager at The Solent Cluster and Damian Morris, Head of Business Development at Ada Mode, discussed the Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plan, which will deliver a modelled roadmap to support investment in decarbonisation infrastructure and help policy makers understand the medium and long term challenges and opportunities for the Region.
