The Solent Cluster – a collaboration of industry leaders, global organisations, universities and local government working together to create a lower carbon future – is recruiting independent industry experts to join the board as Non-Executive Directors.
Established in 2022 and with over 130 member organisations, The Solent Cluster is committed to becoming a leading centre for lower carbon investment. It is now looking to recruit additional members to its board, welcoming applications to these voluntary roles from people who can bring drive and passion to champion the decarbonisation of the local economy and the area’s long-term economic success.
“The Solent Cluster has brought together a collaboration of innovative and diverse members with a shared ambition which will benefit our region for many years to come. We’ve made great progress in a short time, including a successful bid to the national Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plan competition to deliver a project which is now underway supporting manufacturers to develop plans for a low-carbon future and establish a road-map for a lower carbon Solent.
“This is an exciting time to join the Board, and really a one-off opportunity to influence our area’s future as a globally leading economy for low carbon investment, creating new employment opportunities and making a major contribution in the UK’s move to net zero.”
Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair of The Solent Cluster
The Solent Cluster is keen to ensure a voice for SME businesses in the region and is looking for at least one of the vacancies to be filled by an individual from the local SME business community with the knowledge, understanding and a demonstrable commitment to leading and delivering lower carbon solutions and opportunities in cleaner energy technologies.
The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Monday 1 July 2024.
