Enoflex is investing in the latest manufacturing technology to lower emissions, grow the business and create local jobs.

Enoflex

Enoflex manufactures non-metallic “composite material” pipes at its Southampton factory. They are tough, corrosion-resistant and cost-effective at low-temperature, cryogenic conditions compared to competitors’ steel products.

This makes Enoflex pipes a good choice for transporting the liquified gases needed for the energy transition:

  • Liquid Natural Gas LNG
  • Liquid Carbon Dioxide for Carbon Capture
  • Ammonia and Hydrogen
  • Cooling of cables for long-distance renewable power transmission.

Enoflex customers are typically international energy and power firms.

Project partner for Solent LIDP

The Enoflex contribution to the Solent Cluster’s goals is to reduce scope-2 emissions from its manufacturing operations. Enoflex used the InnovateUK support on a feasibility investigation into energy-efficiency improvements for its all-electric manufacturing process. A more efficient process leads to lower power consumption and hence a smaller CO2 footprint for the product.

Enoflex’s Chief Operating Officer Matt Stapleton says:

“Enoflex is proud to be a member of the Solent Cluster. We value the support we’ve received from the Solent Cluster to guide us in reducing the carbon-footprint of our factory process. We are a small but growing manufacturing company that exports pipes to global operators in the low-carbon energy business. The Solent Cluster’s energy-transition vision provides an opportunity for us to play our part in decarbonising industry whilst growing our business. We are proof that the energy-transition and manufacturing jobs creation can go hand in hand.
